THE BEAT GOES ON ALL SUMMER LONG! by Elizabeth Joy Dancing isn't just for senior citizens anymore and it isn't just for toddlers in pink tutus! We know you're sitting on the couch WATCHING "Dancing With the Stars" and "So You Think You Can Dance", but why just sit around when you can join in the dance craze? Put dancing in your life and watch your relationship with your husband grow, feel the pounds fade away and notice for yourself the boost in confidence and energy levels!
A great way to get started is to host a summer "Dance Party" at home...think Sex and the City, with a whole lotta dancing! Either indoors with the air on or outdoors on the deck or even on the lawn, depending on the size of your backyard, this is the ideal way to entertain with a twist! Invite all your friends for a night of learning smooth moves, drinking cool summer cocktails and eating tasty barbeque. You may want to call in the professionals at Fred Astaire Dance Studios to get the party started on the right foot and learn the right way to dance, instead of what you've thought was the right way, until you realize perhaps you have been dancing the Paso Doble or the Hustle with "two-left-feet". Here are some ideas and quick tips to make your dance party, fun, festive and fabulous! If you and your friends agree on learning some sizzling Latin dances, make sure you have plenty of sangria, white or red, pico de gallo, and some paella and / or fajitas! For attire, wear something off the shoulder, long bohemian and flowy to be able to move freely to the Latin pulse. Don't forget pitchers of ice water with lemon wedges to quench everyone's thirst! If a jazzy Swing party is in order, get you and your girlfriends ready for a little East and West Swing action! For décor, think 1940's glam meets 2010 hop. Treat your guests to a hearty American meal like mini grilled burgers, mashed potatoes and grilled veggies. Add in martinis and classic Coke Cola and let the dancing begin! For attire, don a dangerously vixen dress or a twirling skirt and crisp white top and top-off the look with a sexy red lipstick. Whether spending a night with friends or reconnecting with your partner, dancing is a sure-fire way to spark the summer. So, throw some shrimp on the barbie, mix a pitcher of zesty and exotic cocktails and book a dance instructor to get your humdrum life into full swing (pun intended)! My final and most valuable tip...call Fred Astaire Dance Studios Tampa Bay where they are offering the first two lessons for $49. Take a friend, because no partner is required; or take your partner, because he may feel left-out, and watch your summer soar to another level by learning the art of dance!
