Help Tampa Bay MomsTown Buy a Heifer!  Several years ago my Mom introduced me to an organization called Heifer International. I absolutely love what they stand for and how they help people around the world. The concept is beautiful and so simple: "By giving families in need a hand-up, not a hand-out, we can empower them to turn a life of hunger and poverty into one of self-reliance and independence." Heifer International provides families in need the gift of livestock along with the training to take care of the animals. The animals produce a reusable product (chickens = eggs; sheep = wool; etc.) that the family can use to buy or barter for necessities. In addition, the family makes a promise to "Pass on the Gift". This promise means that the family will pass on the offspring of the animal to another family in need; and the gift is passed on and on. Please help Tampa Bay MomsTown buy a cow for a family. The cost of a heifer is $500. (But we'd love to raise as much as possible!) A gift registry has been created with Heifer International in the name of Tampa Bay MomsTown.
