Get Gorgeous For Summer By Raye Toscano We know what it means when the kids are out of school. Summer is here! But instead of thinking about swimsuits and fruity drinks with umbrellas in them, we are planning summer activities for the kids and play dates. As a busy wife, full-time owner of a thriving spa and mother of two, I know all too well how you and your needs are put on the backburner.
What is good about being a spa owner and having a doctor for a husband is that I get the opportunity to learn about the ways I can keep my physique looking young and most importantly, healthy. So, I would like to share with you some effective insider tips that will have you looking and feeling gorgeous in no time! First and foremost, getting gorgeous starts on the inside. Did you know that stress can cause breakouts, dry skin, rashes and tension lines around the forehead, lips and eyes? For those of you who have seen Sex and the City 2, you know that little-miss-perfect, supermom Charlotte gets a tad overwhelmed by her life and needs a little time to herself. I don't want to give anything away for those who haven't seen it yet, but she gets it. So word to the wise: get it. Time to yourself can add some peace and harmony to your life. My time to myself is going out in my garden. I love to be outdoors, planting beautiful things to make my surroundings a little prettier. Maybe getting down and dirty in the earth isn't your cup of tea, but there are plenty of things to do to relax. Find a quiet place in the house where you can go to read. Take an iced tea (or a piña colada... I don't judge) and a fashion magazine out on your patio for some good vitamin D (don't forget the sunscreen of course). Maybe a spa day with a girlfriend is what you need to relax... little massage, little facial, little girl talk. Whatever it is, do it. You, your skin and your sanity will thank you. I know you've heard about the power of antioxidants. You can eat them, drink them and put them on your face. It really does help! Antioxidants neutralize free radicals, keeping you healthy and ultimately helping you live longer. They do wonders for the skin, too. Antioxidants slow down the effects of aging on the skin, minimize wrinkles and help protect your face's healthy, youthful glow. Some popular antioxidants are pomegranate, acai and now, the hot new thing, coffee berry. You should eat food rich in antioxidants, like the summer favorites, cantaloupe, watermelon and juicy tomatoes, take an antioxidant supplement to compliment your diet and use an anti-aging skin care line containing these natural super-substances! Another way to get gorgeous this summer is by having self-confidence. We all have those areas we don't like on our bodies... the tooth that's a little crooked, the extra fat around the waist that we can't seem to get rid of after pregnancy, the junk in the trunk or lack thereof. If you need a little boost, do what it takes to get it. Take a cooking class and learn about the ways to eat healthy. Get back to the gym. Maintain the health of your skin. Make life the way you want it. Self-confidence is truly the ticket to getting gorgeous! http://www.rbmedspa.comRaye Toscano is the co-owner and visionary force behind RedBamboo Medi Spa in Clearwater. |
