St. Petersburg, FL … (Oct 20, 2009) Cointreau Chillounge Night, an upscale outdoor event that transforms a public area into a posh nightclub and lounge for one night only, returns to downtown St. Petersburg for the second time on Saturday, Nov. 21. Cointreau will again be the presenting sponsor with Michelob Ultra and Cadillac as the co-presenting sponsors for this entertaining evening under the stars.
Since the first Chillounge Night was held in Sarasota in 2008, the popular club-like concept has expanded to additional Florida cities that include Tampa and Fort Myers. Thousands of people packed the streets of downtown Tampa Oc. 10 to enjoy that city’s first Chillounge Night experience.
The 2nd Annual Cointreau Chillounge Night in St. Petersburg will overlook the waterfront from Straub Park. Hundreds of chic daybeds and other outdoor furnishings will be set up to create a cozy, comfortable setting for an evening of food, drink and entertainment that will be held 6 – 11 p.m. Included in the evening’s entertainment and activities for the first time is a dazzling fireworks display.
Admission to the elegant outdoor area, which includes a spacious setting boasting lights, sound system, valet parking and a stage that will be filled with musical entertainment, dance performances, fashion models, a Cigar Lounge presented by TabacosSantandres Cigars and more, is $20 per person at the door (must be 21 or older). Advance tickets are on sale now for $15 and available at http://www.chillloungenight.com. A limited number of VIP tickets, which include complimentary food and beverages served in an exclusive VIP section, are available for $75. Parkshore Grill will provide al fresco dining for the VIP area and will be joined by other leading local restaurants to offer signature items cooked and sold on-site for the general public throughout the night.
In addition to the signature line-up of live musical entertainment, which includes Smooth Jazz and opera, and a showcase for haute couture fashions by rising star Sylvio Kovacic (http://www.sylviokovacic.com/), there will be a magnificent fireworks display at 10 p.m. by Creative Pytrotechnics of Orlando, FL. Of course, Chillounge Night’s signature Brazilian Samba Parade by Paulo Gualano will cap off the evening.
The upscale event is the creation of founder Rainer Scheer, a Sarasota resident and gallery owner. His first Chillounge Night was held Feb. 2, 2008 in downtown Sarasota and attracted 2,500 attendees. That evening’s activities included tango dancers, opera singers, jazz musicians, a fashion show, cigar lounge, lively Brazilian Samba dancers and a procession, a line-up that is followed in each city where Chillounge sets up.
“We create a beautiful atmosphere and provide an experience that combines music, dance and food from each area’s great restaurants, all within an elegant setting that offers a perfect place to have fun, meet people and chill,” said Scheer.
The St. Petersburg event will benefit two local organizations, Creative Clay and the Woodson Museum.
Chillounge Night is a division of Design O’Fresco Corp., a Florida corporation that was incorporated in 2002. Design O’Fresco Corp. is owned by Scheer.
